Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G Officially Announced
Samsung announced the company's latest products during a Galaxy Unpacked presentation. One of these products is the Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, Samsung's latest foldable smartphone. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G is a lot sturdier than its predecessor and this time has a waterproof housing and a camera under the screen.
The biggest problem with foldable smartphones is durability. Samsung is therefore working hard on ways to make the Galaxy Z smartphones more robust. The new Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G has received a water resistance rating of IPX8 for the first time, which means that the smartphone can now also be used during a rain shower. The foldable screen has also been given a stronger protective layer, making the screen 80% more durable.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G has a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED display on the inside with a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung has placed the selfie camera under the screen, so there is no notch or cutout. On the outside is a 6.2-inch HD+ AMOLED screen. Internally we find a Snapdragon 888 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB storage space, and a 4,400 mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. The fingerprint scanner is on the screen and there is of course support for 5G. The smartphone also has stereo speakers.
The selfie camera below the screen has a 4MP resolution. On the second screen we find a 10MP selfie camera and on the back is another triple camera with a 12MP main lens, a 12MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G now also has support for the S Pen. This makes it possible to make notes or sketches with the stylus on the large screen. An improved Flex mode makes the Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G better suited for multitasking. The smartphone can be ordered now for $1825 (12GB + 256GB) and orders will be delivered on August 24, 2022. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G is available in Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver.
