Disney Plus Makes Subscription More Expensive
Disney+ has announced a price increase, meaning that customers will now have to pay 2 euros more for a subscription. However, the streaming service also comes with an alternative cheaper subscription.
At the moment, Disney has only announced the price increase for the American market, so we will continue to pay the same in Europe for the time being. However, there is a good chance that this will change in the future. Previously, a Disney+ subscription cost $8.99, but now customers in the US must pay $10.99. For people who don't want to pay this, the streaming service comes with a cheaper subscription with advertisements.
According to Variety, this cheaper subscription in America will cost $7.99 per month. For the three euros per month that you save, you will see advertisements. How many ads is not yet clear, we will probably only know when the subscription is available.
Disney+ now has more than 150 million subscribers worldwide. This is an increase of 33 percent compared to a year earlier. Competitor Netflix currently has 225 million users, but has been through a rough patch and recently saw its users drop by 1 million.
