Now we can observe the redistribution of the economy. Some businesses are becoming unclaimed, while others are flying up. Online services are becoming more popular than ever. The same applies to the mobile products market.
Although the market for mobile products has been continuously growing for almost 15 years, now we see a real boom. People are limited in entertainment, there is no usual choice: restaurants, cinemas, concerts, even fitness centers are now prohibited.
Mobile games and applications come to the fore. This entertainment is available in every sense: everyone now has a mobile phone, you can play without leaving your home, often this entertainment is also free.
With the beginning of quarantine in China, we noted an increase in the number of active users by almost 200%, the length of the game session, in turn, increased by 20%. In Europe, a similar situation is now observed.
For example, in Italy and Spain, with the beginning of quarantine, indicators soared by 50% and 40%, respectively. It is interesting that of all our products, music applications are especially popular in these countries now.
We attribute this to national characteristics. In particular, Italians like Real Guitar, which simulates playing the guitar, and the Beat Maker Go application for creating musical beats. And among the Spaniards, the most popular now is the Double Tune guitar tuning app.

The growth in the consumption of mobile products is noticeable, and it continues. On the other hand, there is some negative tendency in this business. We see that there are fewer advertisers from the real sector.
If the primary monetization in mobile applications is subscriptions, then mobile games are mostly free-to-play products that are monetized through advertising. However, this trend is, in my opinion, temporary.
In the face of uncertainty, it is perfectly normal for a business to pause to review its strategy and redistribute costs. Moreover, after a while, the number of advertisers will become even higher. They will come from other businesses, those that are now on the rise.
The growing demand for mobile games makes them a handy advertising platform.
Will users remain “ in the game” after quarantine? It is impossible to predict something with complete confidence. But the experience of the 2008 crisis shows that yes. Then the purchasing power of the population fell sharply.
And many also had to reduce trips to restaurants, cinema, postpone travel. Again, the most affordable entertainment turned out to be mobile games. The volume of users accumulated during the crisis did not decrease even after the stabilization of the economy.
That is, people have made mobile games on their usual list of entertainment.
Of course, after the coronavirus crisis, people will return to their usual forms of relaxation, will again start going to museums, exhibitions, and concerts. And I think with even greater zeal than before the crisis.
But current experience shows that at least a partial transfer of the business to online can, to some extent, insure income in a crisis.
